"HP what is wrong with you? I told you to use red roses and here you are? "

Why can't he for once do things properly? Today was such an important day.  Everything needs to be perfect and here they are. And if di comes by, she will scold me only.

'Arnav' Here she comes.

'Arnav what's wrong with you? Why are you shouting at poor HP? Let him do his work.'

She loves that hp more than her own brother.

One thing I didn't get is why the hell everyone supports hp instead of me.

'That's because he is right and you are wrong Chote.' Di answered glaring at me.

'What the! Di, how can you hear what I'm thinking?'  I asked baffled.

'Because as usual, you were thinking loudly. Now don't disturb me and tell Khusiji to get ready fast. It's time to start.'  Di replied and moved away instructing hp to do his work without listening to me.

From the corner of my eyes, I can see HP grinning ear to ear and giving me that winning smile. Wait and watch I thought before moving toward my room not wanting to get the next round of scolding in front of hp.

You must be wondering who I am and what's with the preparation, right?

Ok first let me introduce you to my di. Anjali Jha- my di is happily married to her husband Shyam Manohar Jha who is a fashion designer by profession.

Ok now coming to my introduction. Frankly speaking, I'm not someone who likes praising himself. So in short, it's me Arnav Singh Raizada aka ASR. The most successful businessman in India, the most eligible bachelor... oops! sorry I forgot I'm already married. The devil boss, most dashing, versatile, and most handsomest I know that no such a word exists but what to do, I don't think any word has been discovered to date to justify my good looks.

Like I already told you. I don't like praising myself. So that was my short introduction.

And now talking about the function it's mine and Khushi's pre-wedding function.

Ok no need to trouble your brain thinking about who my Khushi is. She is my better half, my wife, and my life.

Now don't give me that look. I know the wife and pre-wedding rituals don't go well. Don't worry I'll come there also. First, let me talk about my Khushi.

Khushi like her name has brought immense happiness to my life. Our marriage was in every sense arranged marriage. The type where the groom sees his bride's face only on the marriage day. I know it's hard to believe but my case was the same. I saw her face only on our marriage day.

So the story as always starts with Di.

Di was adamant that I had to marry the girl whom she met in the temple and was really impressed by her innocent personality. And you can imagine how the other members of my family were taken by the idea too. And started the scheming of my family. He had expected his mom, dad, and Nani to be on plan but when his brothers joined them well it was just. To put it lightly, he was pissed. And peer pressure is a thing. And finally, their scheming or more like their constant nagging won, and without looking at the picture I agreed to the marriage but with condition that there will be only marriage and not a week-long function. Do I regret that condition to date? I do. But it is a discussion for later.

So where was I? Yes, with my Khusi. I mean our wedding.

When I led my eyes on Khushi on our wedding day deep inside I was pleased to have agreed with di. I was totally mesmerized by Khusi's beauty and her big innocent eyes. But my elephant size ego did not allow me to accept the same. So on our wedding night, I was fully prepared to give a long lecture about do's and don'ts to my newly wedded wife.

Memory Lane

Arnav Khusi's Wedding night

Khushi was sitting in the middle of the bed her face fully covered, waiting for her husband of a few hours. Arnav entered the room and started with what he planned.

Look Khushi, I was not at all interested in this marriage. I married you just for my di. So u better don't keep any expectations from me. You live the way you like and let me live my way. Frankly speaking, I'm not interested in all marriage, girls...

Before Arnav could continue his lecture impatient Khushi who was sitting quietly on the bed jumped in front of Arnav making him take two steps back frightened. In his defense that was such an unexpected move from his wife of a few hours.

Hey devi maiya what are you saying Arnavji. App WO nahi WOO ho.

The way she emphasized the word 'woo' he just knew something was about to happen.

'Di already warned me that you'll say all the things that you told me just now. But she never told you are Woo and not Wo. Now, what will happen to me?' Khushi was now blabbering to herself.

Arnav was totally confused with her woh thing. Hadn't di mentioned something about his to-be-wife being a less talkative shy one?

'What do u mean by WO nahi WOO?' Arnav asked getting completely lost.

'WArnavji wo.'

'What woo Khushi?'

Arnav was on verge of losing his mind. What did he plan and what was happening? He thought after making her understand his point he would peacefully sleep after all the tiresome rituals but alas.

'Arre woo arnavji jisse ladki  nahi ladke pasand hai

Khushi whispered as if she was telling some top-secret making Arnav stunned. Did he hear it right or his eardrum was playing around with him? Like boys instead of girls? Who?

'Now, what will happen to me? You should not have agreed to this marriage Arnavji.' Khushi seemed more disappointed in him than anything.

'Khushi.'

Arnav tried stopping her completely unknown on which track his wife's mind was going.

'Do you love Amanji???.'

Khushi asked suddenly remembering something making Arnav stunned not knowing how Aman entered the conversation.

'Hey, devi maiya .You two were always together. You should have married Amanji.  You two will make a cute couple.'

Arnav shook his head to remove the picture of him and Aman hugging each other which appeared in front of his eyes while listening to his wife's talk.

'Khushi....' he had to stop this girl. His wife, his brain advised.

'Don't worry about this society Arnavji. I'm with you. Hum apki shaadi karayenge amaji ke saath.'

Khushi continued planning about her husband's marriage on her wedding night itself completely missing the horrified expression on her husband's face.

She in her endless muttering didn't see her husband's glare too.

'Just shut up Khushi. I'm completely straight.' Arnav emphasized the word 'straight' to keep his point.

'App ne tho kaha app ko ladki me koi interest nahi hai.'

'I wanted to say I am not interested in relationships or marriage not that I'm interested in boys.'

Present

'Chote, are you all right? Why are you talking to yourself? And why are you still standing here?  I told u to call Khushi downstairs.'

Di's voice brought me out of my memory lane. And I could only sigh as both Di and HP looked at me worriedly. More like suspiciously, his evil brain hissed.

'I'm just going.' I whispered to di as I made my way upstairs. Di's eyes followed me till I disappeared from her view.

Where was I?? Yeah, on my wedding night. That day I got to know how crazy my wife was. She nearly married her husband to his pa on the wedding night itself.

And that day he got to know how mature and understanding his wife was. It was her idea to become friends and get to know each other which slowly led me to fall head over heels in love with my Khusi and her many many shades. Be it her innocence, or craziness. Maturity or childishness.

Khushi is his everything.

He opened their bedroom door to see his beloved wife in his favorite red sari caressing her baby bump in front of the mirror.

Oh ya, I forgot to tell you, my Khushi is eight-month pregnant ready to welcome our little angel soon.

'What happen Khushi? ' I asked seeing her frown.

'Arnavji, look I'm so fat.' She complained observing herself in the mirror. That pout always made her look adorable.

'Khusi jaan you are not fat. You are only pregnant and you are glowing  all the more day by day.'  One thing I have learned in our pregnancy is- patience is key.

'No, you are lying. I'm so ugly. Now, you'll stop loving me.' Tears were already forming in her eyes. He hated seeing her cry.

'Khushi, how can you say that I'll stop loving you? You are my life.' I whispered slowly showing her how hurt I was by her word

'Sorry.' She mumbled holding her ear with one hand and rubbing her eyes with the other. If she looks so sincere all the time, how can I even get angry?

'It's ok.' I said pulling her in my arms. If this is not peaceful he doesn't know what is.

'Di is calling you downstairs.' I mumbled in her hair still caging her between my arms. If only I can spend all day like this.

'Ya, it's already late.' Khushi said trying to break the hug but I was in no mood to leave her.

'Khusi, some more time please.' I almost pleaded.

'Laad governor, leave me. I know what you are doing.' she said finally breaking the hug and glaring at me. She understands me so well. I really don't want her to go downstairs.

'Khushi look there is still time we can cancel...' I tried one last time only to stop in middle looking at her angry face.

'Ok baba sorry. Let's go.' I apologized immediately before escorting her downstairs. Hope her Devi Maiya will make everything alright.
